Meet the Kromkas
(Our Pilot Family)

Josh, Amanda, Jace, Vada

Josh and Amanda thought Jace was simply fighting a cold-turned-pneumonia, only to find themselves at Children’s Omaha learning that Jace was in fact fighting a form of leukemia. They have graciously agreed to be our Adopt a Family program pilot family!

We Support Families

Through Our Three-Step Approach

Listen

We start by spending time with each family and their advocate — learning about their child’s diagnosis, unique challenges, and most urgent needs.

Support

Next, we connect the family with the support they need through their advocate who helps coordinate resources, financial aid, and emotional care.

Continue

Finally, we provide ongoing, adaptable care through regular check-ins, ensuring families remain equipped and encouraged wherever their journey may take them.

Listen with Individualized Attention

We spend time with the family and their advocate to learn about the family’s unique needs. Josh and Amanda were planning to sell/buy a house in the spring, but they can no longer move with Jace’s treatment schedule. Jace and Vada share a bedroom, and for Jace’s weakened immune system, they need to finish their basement and give their children their own space.

Support with Comprehensive Care

Each member of the family, and the family as a whole, need to be taken care of. There are so many variables that determine how a family’s journey with childhood cancer will develop. Esther’s Miracle is there to help the whole family not just survive, but thrive, through their journey.

Long-Term, Continuous Support

The first year after diagnosis is just the beginning. Families will forever be changed after a childhood cancer diagnosis, and the journey never ends for the child diagnosed, or his/her siblings, or the parents fighting for their family. Esther’s Miracle is here for a lifetime and beyond. We fight together to support families one miracle at a time.

The Miracle Network

The Miracle Network is a program offering free or significantly reduced internet services to Omaha families facing childhood cancer. With reliable internet, parents can coordinate medical care, siblings can keep up with school, and everyone can stay connected with loved ones. By reducing financial burdens and bringing stability during life’s most challenging moments, we help ensure every child can focus on healing, not hardship.
